Meet Krista

As a Paraplanner at The Thigpen Group, Krista plays a key role in helping families align their financial decisions with the life they want to live. She works alongside advisors to build comprehensive, forward-thinking plans that bring clarity, confidence, and purpose to every stage of a client’s financial journey. Whether she’s fine-tuning tax strategies, analyzing investment portfolios, or designing personalized retirement projections, Krista approaches each plan with precision, curiosity, and care.

Krista began her academic journey with aspirations of becoming a physician, earning a Bachelor of Science in Public Health and Biology from the University of California, San Diego. However, her experiences working in healthcare revealed that meaningful, systemic change required not only influence but also financial literacy. This realization inspired her to pivot into the world of finance, where she earned an MBA with a focus in Finance and Marketing from Millsaps College. She is now actively studying for additional financial certifications to achieve her goal of becoming a Financial Planner.

Krista and her high school sweetheart, Tyler, reside in Clinton, Mississippi, with their two dogs, Bella and Zelda, and two cats, Cleo and Olive. Outside of work, Krista is passionate about anything artsy, especially painting and drawing. She loves taking on DIY projects around the house, cooking elaborate Gordon Ramsay-inspired meals, and exploring new restaurants to try.

Her favorite book is How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie, and she never says no to biscuits and gravy—her go-to comfort food. When it comes to movies, Interstellar is at the top of her list. A quote that inspires her daily is, “The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do,” by Steve Jobs. On her bucket list, Krista is determined to visit every country in the world—7 down, 188 to go!
